Ok, this is going to be a quick and dirty review. CA gave this an 83, I'd give it a little higher, maybe about an 87.
Very dark wrapper, very nice prelight nose, cedary.
Light was nice, burned uneven for about 1/4 of the way before correcting itself. I sure didn't taste olives, like the CA reviewer had, but damn was it a sharp cedar taste. Cedar and tobacco, that was all I tasted out of this one. Very good with a scotch, neat, no water. Complimented each other nicely.
Overall, this is a nice, strong, powerful cigar that was worth the money. I would smoke this in the morning, when I need a jolt. I'd need to smoke it with a cup of coffee to make sure this would go, but 'eh... Either that, or sitting in a bar with friends, with good scotch.
This was from a batch in '98 and are the ones that are included in my pass.
Next up, The Bolivar. Keep it tuned in.
