Hawaii first state to have 21 year old smoking limit

Unfortunately quite a few governing bodies at small, local levels have made this move. I listen to "The Cigar Authority" podcast and weekly they recap anti-smoking legislation from all over the country. Small bites are taken by our governmental bodies all the time in form of raising smoking age, banning smoking in outdoor common areas, parks and beaches. They have even passed bans on smoking in entire government funded housing projects inside your own four walls in a few areas of the country. The stigma associated with tobacco and smoking has clearly bled over into our rights as cigar smokers. Other than supporting groups such as CRA, it's simply inevitable this trend will continue and don't even get me started on the impending FDA ban on new cigar brands.
I'm going to go smoke a cigar and count to 10

Hopefully the manufacturers go with the Cuban model if the FDA ban goes through. Sell them online overseas.

This land is changing and unfortunately we are a minority without a good story like other minority groups.

Downstate NY (NYC, Nassau and Suffolk Counties) are all 21. IIRC, it started with one of the counties raising it to 19 to stop HS Seniors from legally buying tobacco. Their logic was 18 year olds bringing cigarettes to school was responsible for underage smoking. Then the other county followed suit. And then they decided why not go all in and make it 21. NYC fell in line somewhere in the middle.

I know that some local counties have raised the limit including The Big Island for some time now. Other states are also considering raising the age limit.

This includes vaping, right?  I fucking hate those things.  It's one thing when smoking cigarettes at high school were the "rebel" thing to do.  My 15 (next week) year old asked me if I could buy her a vaporizer (whatever they are officially called).  She is under the assumption that they are totally safe and have no ill side effects.  Apparently it is the cool thing to have at school now and considered a social status thing amongst the kiddies these days to have and be seen with one.  It was off to the innerwebz for a little bit of education for her on these things.

Yes, e cigs and vaping devices are included in the ban.

I see two things happening, the 21 year olds will set up a business for solving the nicotine of the kiddies and lest we forget Prohibition and how well that worked.

Glad this is the only problem America has that needs attention.

What a crock of crap!

Woo. Good luck, Brother. Violet needs Dad to be right there and make facts clear. She's a good one, and you are too, so, no worries. Be honest, open and available.

She's not the only ones. I work at a bar most weekends, and these clowns outside act like they're in some sort of competition to see who can exhale the biggest cloud. And when I tell them to get the hell away from me with it, all I hear is "It's ok, bro, it's totally safe. It's nothing but vapor." First off, it smells like shit. And B) we'll see how safe it is in 20 years.

Cuz they out back at the smokers tree smoke a butt.

Reminds me of an email I saw a while back that compared the Navy of old and the new Navy.

Old Navy: If you smoke, you had an ashtray on your desk.
New Navy:  If you smoke, you get sent outside and treated like a leper, if you're lucky.
