Has anyone tried Woodford Reserve's Double Oak yet?

Not yet. I'm looking forward to it hitting our shelves here in GA though.

I am very interested in this as well. Looks to be really good, but I cant find it anywhere near me.

Nice. If you try it let me know how it is. If I remember correctly, I think it is around $40 for 750ml.

I'm in PA for business this week and stopped 4 times to look for it...finally, one of the shop owners called their Woodford rep and she said they weren't getting it into their warehouse until March 30th.

I'll check NJ when I head back home.

Can't wait to sample it as well.

I scored a bottle this evening. I'll be cracking it open momentarily. Report to follow.

So I just had a few sips, and I think I'm going to refrain from giving my opinion until tomorrow. I had curry chicken and a beef patty and I don't want them to cloud my judgment.

Good call, that can lay waste to a palette.

So Khari, did you take a few sips with your bacon & eggs this morning?

We're all patiently waiting on your tasting notes

Yes I have. It has been a few months. My buddy loves it. He also loves Crown Royal, which I'll throw in here to give some breadth to his tastes. He also does not like Beer.
I found it noticeably fairly smooth, in the sense that is sort dominates your first impression. I remember thinking it had impressions of wood and flowers. It is not as sweet as some other bourbons I've tried. I remember the finish being on the dry side. This one is not BIG. More low key.

Not quite with my bacon and eggs, but I do believe it was a tick or two before noon!

Ok, here are my thoughts. If you like Woodford Reserve, you'll find this infinitely more interesting. I personally have come to realize that I prefer bourbons with either a high rye or wheat content. The corn is just too prominent in WR stuff, IMHO. Even still, I could appreciate that this was a more complex and enjoyable drink.
