THANK goodness the Yankees have Hank Steinbrenner around for comic distraction or else our full attention would be honed on just what an unmotivated, undisciplined and mostly unwatchable group this former dynasty has become.

Yankee fans ought to be insulted. When you've got a $200 million payroll you ought to be able to sustain injuries. And when fans are paying $50 and upwards for a ticket to fill Yankee Stadium every day and night, they deserve more than being told on Aug. 13 to forget about the rest of the season.

Even with the injuries, their lineup should still be able to produce more runs than just about anyone. What an unmotivated group of egomaniacs. I love it.

It would be so great if neither Boston or New York made the playoffs.

I would really like to see the Rays win the division and Twins to get the wildcard.

In my opinion that article puts on display the narcissistic attitude that New York has in general, but especially about the Yankees. Unlike a lot of other things $200 million payroll does not equal winning. Stop whining and take it like real fans. We're not whining here in abut losing Starter #1 and Starter #2.

It is almost hard to fathom that #30 in the payroll list is approximately 10 times lower than #1. I agree those of us who are not Yankee fans enjoy the "not winning" aspect of the cseason so far.
