H. Upmann Magnum 46 - cabinet cigar with bands?

Ok, here's one for the FOGs and ISOM lovers out there who know their stuff.....

A friend of mine ordered a box of 25 H Upmann Magnum 46 (cabinet). When the box came in they had the H Upmann bands on them. Now, as far as he knows, these cigars should NOT come with bands (as they are cabinet, so he opines).

Does anyone have any information about this or perhaps have had this experience with this cigar?

Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated

I am by no means a FOG but from I understand, as of the middle of last year... they are now putting bands on them all. I think there was a link on this somewhere... I will try to find it for you.

Yes Shiba is correct. I believe it started early to mid '04, IIRC. There are a few brands that don't have bands; like the JL#2 for some reason ???

It's been my experience as well that cabs are 50 and do not have bands. Boxes are 25 and do.

50ct. cabs and 25ct. SLB's all should have bands and that started in early '04. But there are exceptions like the JL#2 and that is just one box I have noticed. There could actually be more that still don't have bands.
