I really enjoy Gurkha so I thought I would try the so called Rolls Royce of cigars

Connecticut wrappers
size 6.0" x 60 ring

I was expecting a lot out of this cigar since retail is $30 a stick

Pre-light aroma very good
Construction very good
Burn- A cool burning cigar but it burned fast, had some tunneling.
Draw, was fair to good
Flavor- I think its complex, smooth flavor with rich spice undertones. As I smoked the cigar the flavor became a lot better towards the end.
Ash- was a little loose.

Bottom line on this cigar it is not worth the $30 retail a stick. Now I know why I only paid $6 a stick on cbid. It is a good smoke but Gurkha has some other lines that I think is better and cheaper.
There is no reason to call this cigar the Rolls Royce of cigar.

I would agree that it is in no way worth $30, but it is one of my favorite Gurkhas.

I thought you were gone, Tony... Change of heart??? Perhaps a CHANGE OF WAYS??

Yeah but it's not really a $30 stick.

Unlike Opus, these regularly sell for well under MSRP.

Is it a decent $12 stick?

What would you pay for it?

How does it compare to an Opus? If this is the Rolls Royce of cigars, what is Opus? Ferrari?

I don't think that it could be in the same catagory as an Opus. I'm sure it could be compared to anyother line of Fuentes, just not an Opus. The ones that I have had were good, better than decent, but not worthy of the hype. I thought it was kinda flat myself; It went half way but refused to deliver. Never rose nor fell....so I call it a "flatline" cigar.

Its hard to compare this smoke to the opus line. Opus has that salt like flavor to them I have yet to find anywhere else. I do think Opus X is way overprice yet I still have $200 worth in my humidor.

I think there is no cigar worth over $15 a stick. That is just me.
A good example I think is when you look a CA ratings and your see a $30 cigar right next to $6 cigar with the same ratings.

What - Tony's not being nice??? WTF!!! :0

Tony - SHAME ON YOU!!!!

I'd say it's difficult to compare Rolls Royce and Ferrari when trying to say something is better luxury than something else. A Rolls Royce is a truly high end luxury automobile, but in it's own class as a sedan. The Ferrari is also a high end luxury auto, but in a class with other sports cars.

Oh wait, this about cigars, nevermind.

c'mon Lumby, everyone know Opus is like an Aston-Martin, not a Ferrari... :p

I like the Centurian as well, but I think the Legend Anniversario perfecto is actually better. I get much more richness and nutty flavors from the Legend. I love it when I can get a 6 pack on Cbid for around $25 too.

But I don't particularly like Aston-Martins, but I love Opus...you're messing with my head! WAAAAAH!

How 'bout this:

The Opus is more like an F1 spec car, but the Gurkha is more like a NASCAR Nextel Cup series car.
