I was surprised by this cigar -- it was really, really good, and I wasn't expecting it for some reason.

Cut that out. Next thing I know you'll be wearing a kimono :)
Funny you should mention that... may be heading to Japan in May, and on my list of things to get if I go there is a nice kimono :)

Mostly I was just too lazy/drunk to do a proper review of it.

My local cigar shop is in the process of getting the ghurka line... I've never had one, so until they complete the "process" I'll have to wait :(

I have heard lots of good things- so I'm glad you enjoyed it Moki :)

One of your best reviews. Got a few Gurkhas lying around. They will soon be smoked.

The only one of their line that I've had is the Gurkha Legend -- I don't know how the others taste (yet).

Being the current resident Gurkh whore I've found that even the lower end Sherpa brand is pretty good, especially the diablo series. The only one that I think is a little weak are the Expeditions but I've only had two so it may just be a bad batch or young box.

I've had the Sherpa Mystic (Dos Capas = two wrappers, natural and maduro), and it is actually a decent cigar. Mild to medium bodied with good flavor, great burn. A good cigar, and at cigarbid like $45 for a bundle of 25, so at $2/ea not to bad.

Plus there's the novelty of smoking a double wrapped stick.
