Ok..I decided that I am going to smoke this cigar and will edit the initial post as I smoke this bad boy. I have to smoke this one. I've never had one before or any of their cigars, so I'm in for a treat, I hope. Since I do not know anything about this cigar, I will have to see if I can come up with some info other than being 6" x 50 ring gauge.

I put the cigar to dampen the cap area which I always do. It really gives me a nice taste of the wrapper. I get a nice, roasty taste off this for some reason. Now there was a little hole at the tip of the cap which I could draw some air in. I do not know if this is characteristic of this cigar or now, but I do feel this is gonna be one great draw. Now for the replacement Xikar to lose its virginity and be the first cut with this cigar. Yay!!! Ahhh that was such a smooth and beautiful cut. I dont miss the Xikar I bought in 2002 to at all.

Upon inspection after cutting the cigar. There is 2 places you can see veins very clearly in the wrapper but no biggie. Its a nice chocolate color. The wrapper is nice and soft. I do not feel any soft spots in the filler at all. Over all impression of the construction...Highly impressed and now its time for the first puff, puff. I toasted the end and light this bad boy up. The first puff leaves a nice, roasty taste on the tongue. It lit up really easy. The smoke has a mild smell to it for me. It smells like an Earthy taste like a cigar from the Dominican Republic. More to follow since only a 1/2" is smoked. There is a coffee like taste that I pick up which reminds me of a blend called Dark Roast in Costa Rica. You can see the oil come out where its burning slowly. The ash is about 1/2 really dark and the other 1/2, whitish in nature. The ash is layered like a huge pile of pancakes. A beautiful sight indeed. Almost at the 1" mark smoked and I'm expecting a transition.

Ok..Bad news at this point. There was a major crack in the wrapper after smoking nearly 2" of this one and its getting worse. So far the smoke has been very cool to this point and continues to be so. The smoke seems to stepped up a notch and have taken on a little heavier smell. In a good way. It still smells mild and the taste still seems between a Mild and Medium cigar for me. But I think its gonna finish as a Medium bodied cigar. It continues to have a nutty, roasty taste which really comes out after I take a sip of water. But close to being out of the danger zone where it cracked in the wrapper and spread into multiple directions.

It recovered nicely and out of the danger zone. Woot...Just took off the band and it reminded me of taking off a Opus X band but it came off nicely without a tear. Its burned relatively straight without much correction from the ole lighter. The wrapper cracked again after smoking 3 1/2", but its a simple one and not spread out in different directions. It has picked up a few notches tho. The smoke is much stronger than it was and so is the taste. Its definitely hitting a Medium strength cigar with a very distinct roasty taste and smell. I can not say that its spicy, because I simply cant taste that. This last crack turned in about 1 1/2" which underneath you can see a vein. Its still smoking like a champ and picking up strength. The smoke is now kinda bothering my eyes so that is a sign its getting stronger. Woot!!! Only about 1" of whats left isnt cracked. So for the over all impression then:

Other than the cracks, it smoked nicely. It really picked up from being a mild cigar IMHO to being probably in between a Medium to Full bodied cigar. I'm gonna have to nail it cuz of the cracks but other than that, i'd give this a 8.5 out of 10 rating. If it didnt crack, I would have easily given this a 9 to maybe 9.25 out of 10 rating. I really like how the transition of the body took place while smoking. The cracks didnt seem to effect the taste whatsoever.

The Legends are one of my top 3 Gurkhas, I did a list back in September of how I rate the line overall.
