Well to tell the truth I have never even had a Gurkha cigar :( I found out last week that my local Tobacconist is having a Gurkha tasting event where we will be treated to all kinds of freebies. Supposedly we will be getting the new "Beast"? I think that is what he called it? So I have been waiting to try/buy any Gurkhas until then.

If anyone is going to be in N. California on Saturday August 20, 2005 le tme know we will can meet there. :thumbs:
 
can't say I've had the Gurkha maduro, but I recently had the Masters Select. Delicious cigar. Very smooth and quite creamy. Unforunately I got the Perfectos #3. They're like 4 inches long. So...just when i was really beginning to enjoy the cigar, it was already almost time to put it out. But very nice for a short quick smoke.
I'm not on that e-mail list, but Cigarsinternational.com also has a nice Gurkha sampler that's like 13 cigars for about the same price as the 15 'gar special. I'm considering purchasing that.

I have a 5er on order from last week and I jumped on this deal. Gurkhas in general are good cigars and I've really liked all the maduros I've had by them. If you don't like them I'll make you a deal to take them off your hands.

The event is at Tobacco Republic in Loomis, CA. It is about 15-20 minutes East on I-80 from Sacramento. If your brother is coming have him ask for Ron or Rich (the owners) then ask them for me - I will have a smoke with your brother.

If you are interested in purchasing something (and your brother won't be there) I may be able to find out what the "special" prices are and get something for you. PM me if interested.
 
*I got my cigars and smoked a few. These cigares remind me of the other Gurkas I have tried "Boring". I am sure there are plenty of Gurkas out there that are good but this is a Fair Yard gar at best. IMHO.
I have only tried one other Gurkas cigar so I don't knwo much about the darn things.
i know i am going to get an ear full from AVB :laugh:
