Graycliff Factory Tour

I've sent a request to schedule a factory tour, which according to the website is a highly encouraged and enjoyable experience. I'm wondering if anyone else here has taken the tour, or know anything about it and what I should expect. Also, should I expect some really good pricing on their cigars on site, or will the prices be average or high? Will they allow cameras? If so I'll treat everyone here to lots of pics, although don't expect anything as cool as Moki's Fuente tour!

Also, does anyone know the limit offhand on cigars back into the US from Bahamas?

I haven't taken their tour, but I know some people who have. It's worth the price, you'll enjoy it. As for the cigars, the prices are not going to be any better... but you will be able to get some interesting smokes that aren't for sale on the mainland.

You should PM Jingles. I know he goes down that way a couple times a year.

Only one I've toured is the Rocky Patel one. Is it worth it? Oh yeah it is. I'm going back down again in March if all goes well. Just waiting for confirmation from da man. We was allowed to take pictures every where on ours. Sure its not the same tour, but if you want a real answer, ask them honestly. They could have changed their policy. To me, it doesnt matter if you like the cigar or not, the tour is a humbling experience. :)

Never taken the factory tour but have eaten/smoked at GrayCliff. They normally have a roller there but they charge obscene amounts for the "custom" rolls. I know that you pay the same price at the restaurant as you do anywhere else (even more since most places run specials on GrayCliff cigars quite often).

Sounds good! I'll be bringing the camera, as well as my lighter and cutter! Now the fun really begins, our flight down there is at 6:15 tomorrow morning, which means we have to leave our house at 3am!

And I saw on their site they have a Mike Ditka Bears Super Bowl cigar! I may have to pick up a few of those, if they're not some absurd amount of money.

Have a good time and if you go to GrayCliff for dinner make sure to ask them for a tour of the wine cellar. Pretty impressive.

Oh, and if you are in Nassau, go across the bridge to Paradise Island (where Atlantis is). Right over the bridge on the right is an outdoor bar called "The Green Parrot". Best burger you'll ever have. ;)

Be careful about whether you bring the lighter...you are flying from the US right?

I'm headed off to Aruba on Saturday, for 11 days of smoking and drinking...but I will not be bringing the lighter.

We're actually staying at Atlantis, so I'll be sure to hit that bar for a cocktail and burger. Do you know roughly how far The Graycliff is from Atlantis? I would assume I'll take a taxi over there.

And I'll pack my cheapy torch lighter in my check-in bags and hope for the best.

I'm not sure of the distance, but have made that ride myself - it is not too far away. If you get the opportunity definitely eat at the Graycliff for lunch or dinner. The dinner I had at the Graycliff was the best meal I have ever eaten in life, without a doubt.

We visited around the same time that you did a couple years ago and Enrico was there and gave all of us some freshies from the rolling room after the tour. Don't think this is normal practice but it was certainly kind of him...LOL

I would also recommend eating at The Poop Deck - though the name wouldn't suggest it - it is a wonderful place to grab lunch. Wonderful staff and great casual food.

Safe travels - it sounds like a wonderful trip!

Over the bridge, through Nassau, on the left. Cost you about $12-15 for the cab ride depending on how many people. Definately take a taxi - not worth the walk - especially at night. Oh, and the $0.05 slots across from the dance club in Atlantis were putting out when I was there. ;)

In that little shopping area? There is a killer pizza place there too. Can't remember the name.

No, it's across from the shopping center. Right on the water.
