As many of you know, I became a grandpa (much too early, I might add... - stop calling me "Gramps" KB 
) for the first time last week with the birth of my daughter Melinda's baby Kiley Marie. Kiley is a month early, but mom and baby are doing just fine!!! :thumbs:
Having participated in several passes, and enjoying them immensely, I wanted to try my hand at hosting a pass. It seems it would be interesting, educational and good clean fun!!! So, the idea of Grandpa's First Pass was born...
I'm very sorry I can't include everyone in this pass - as you'll see in a moment, it's quite a long list already. This pass was by invitation only, and I hope I didn't offend anyone by not sending an invite - believe me, it is not my intent.
The idea behind my pass was that it is traditional to distribute cigars amongst friends at the birth of a child. I wanted to pass cigars out to my friends, but to be honest, most of my friends don't really care for cigars (that's why most people pass out "Arrango Sportsman" cigars, because most don't really care - but not me). Of course, I will be passing out cigars at the cigar shop to people I know, but they have access to pretty much everything I would be passing out. I wanted to find something that would signify the event, and at the same time, satisfy the discerning pallates on this board.
So - I chose to pick up a box of AVO LE05 cigars to pass out to participants in this pass for a couple of reasons:
1) AVO traditionally makes a great cigar and seems to be universally liked.
2) This was a Limited Edition cigar - one that is not easily found.
3) After sampling it (Gramps first) - This is ONE GREAT cigar
4) It is a LE "05" - the year of my granddaughters birth - and a Limited Edition like Kiley.
