I picked up one of these at a B&M just to try something new yesterday, and it was really good. A robusto, about $3.50. It was full-bodied, almost too strong at the beginning, and then sweet and flavorful at the end.

Does anyone smoke these? Do you know who has the best deal online?

I absolutely love the Gran Habano Corojo No. 5 Gran Robusto. Very flavorful and rich. Retails for less than $4. I picked up a box from Holts for less than $70. I know that both Cigarking and Phatash have them for around that price as well. I have had the smaller one, but the larger Gran Robusto....BAM!

OK, your post made me dig one of these lovelies out last night and smoke it.

The Gran Habano Corojo No. 5 Gran Robusto is a massive cigar, measuring 6 x 54. It just looks a lot bigger than that. The wrapper on it was dark, almost a maduro. It had a great pre-light nose of earth, coffee and cedar. There were no noticable seams or veins and the wrapper was almost dripping with oil...beautiful. The pre-light draw was open and easy.

This cigar had almost perfect construction. The draw stayed open and easy, with each puff gently coaxing overflowing mouthfuls of thick, rich smoke from the cigar. The burn was dead even throughout and it stayed absolutely cool right down to my fingertips. The ash was white and very firm, staying on the cigar for easily an inch at a time. I just can't find any flaws in the construction of this cigar at all...fantastic.

The taste...oh the taste. Started off with a certain sweetness to it. I would classify it as sweet-wood. Coffee/espress flavors built almost immediately, providing a smooth, though not creamy smoke. The coffe/espress was overlaid with the sweet-wood flavors and there was just a hint of citrus on the finish. The cigar ended (as all of this line has for me) with pronounced cedar over the coffee/espress. Excellent tasting cigar.

Now, this cigar retails for around $3.50. I'm sure not everyone has had the same experience as I, but this cigar really does it for me. I think it is absolutely one of the best cigars in its price range on the market. It was so good, that I rate it an A.

Dawg... great review and right on the mark.
Unbelievable value on this stick!

Glad to see I'm not alone on this one! And thanks for the links, Junkman! Seems like a great cigar for ~70 a box.

My buddy Dale and I went to a Grand Habano cigar rolling event at Belicoso's in Sterling Heights last night. They had a very nice looking dame rolling these beauties.
We all got free sticks to smoke, I chose the black banded stick, as this was the medium blend. Dale got the red band full bodied stick. Like noted before, the medium stick started out quite peppery and strong, and finally mellowed about half way thru.

Dale and I split a box, it was about 75 bucks for 20 robusto size, but we also received 10 fresh rolled sticks!

I really love this smoke shop, they are always having events and they have a great smoking room with a big screen tv, and they always have a nice spread of food out as well.

I realy enjoy a corojo cigar. I also had one of these today. I have to say it was a good smoke. My favorite corojo is made by flor de oliva. I have had 6 or 8 of these and I have not had one with a single flaw and the flavor in my opinion is great.
