Official Gran Habano web site warns that this is a cigar for 'cigar veterans'
For sure I'm not one of them but I decided to feel like one of them, and I took this beautifull Piramid.

From the begining cigars make really nice impression
It has very clear and strong smell of good tabacoo, roots and leather
Its hard and very good build, with very nice rolled wrapper, especially on a head:

After cut I had very nice, maybe a litte to tight draw.
I knew I can expect very powerfull taste so I did not cut anymore.
First taste I felt on my lips and tongue was a spicy pepper, and then lots of soil and roots.
After liting it up I was a little scared that I will feel this strong spicy pepper all the time,
but fortunatelly during next few puffs it was lighter and all I could feel was this very strong taste of soil and roots.

During almost whole smoke the taste was the same.
The same powerfull and full bodied taste, with some nutty elements from time to time.
After about 1/2 it bacame a little bitter.
It looked like the cigar wanted to give more power than it was able to give, and thats why it was loosing its quality.
Ofcourse as usually slow smoking did help.

After about an hour and 20 minutes of smoking when I had only 1/3 left I felt I was full of nicotine.
If the taste was a little lighter, better and less bitter I think I would maybe even nub it.
I have some experientce with nicotine overload, I know how bad feelling it is,
so I didn't want to risk because I think it was not worth.
So after more than hour and 30 minutes I had to put it down.

I can summarise it as a really nice full bodied smoke, very good for after dinner slow smoking.
Im also glad that there are a little smaller vitolas than this piramid,
which for sure will be better for me, because Im sure I'll smoke #5 again

Ok, and some closeup porn ;)

For a stick I can find for under $4 each (by the box) I think these are great smokes. It doesn't take me that long to smoke one though.

Thanks Michal. Nice detail. I have been on the fence on wether to try these or not.

Like AVB stated..good smoke for the money. i feel the same as Michal, very potent cigar, but same flavors all the way through, not a very diverse cigar.

Very nice review  . I have a box of these and I like to have one every once in a while. Only if I am in the mood for something really strong. I bought them when I had a quest for the strongest cigar out there. I have never seen one take that long to smoke either.

Thanks for the review... and great pics.

I just bought a few of these sticks based on the recommendation of my local B&M, and I'm looking forward to trying them.

Great review!
As the others have stated... For the $, a very solid smoke!

Thanks for the detailed and excellent review, Michal!

I keep some of these around for when I want a spicy smoke. Great smoke for the money, IMO.

I love these babies as well, my favorite in their line of smokes in fact. But, I find that they always need some downtime in the humi. But after that, they are great!
