Got my new sticks today!

I received my order from Casillas today!

I got my complimentary cigar (1) of them. (It used to be a few different ones. Other than the ones you order)

They charged me sales tax (CA). I live in Indiana now. (Never used to charge tax before)

The charged me shipping. Fine, no big deal. (Never used to charge for shipping either)

I really like the cigars. I wish they would have told me. I pimp them, because I really liked the perks. now the perks are gone. I called and asked them about the sales tax and shipping. They said they had to start charging.

I can understand shipping. The sales tax, however is new to me. I went to other sites on the web and none of them charged sales tax, if shipping out of state. Does anyone know other places that are charging sales tax, for out of state?

I will still order from Casillas, because I like the smokes. But I will also browse the web and CP for others.

Unless they have a presence in your state, no, they should not be charging you sales tax. Perhaps it was a mistake. Technically, anything you've bought outside of your state and were not charged sales tax on, you're supposed to declare to the IRS and send the state the tax you would have paid if you bought it in-state, but... no one does it.

A Cuban family in Sacramento that makes their own cigars. They do not sell anything else.

I called them and asked what was up. They said they had to charge sales tax now.
