I know a few of you had met her. Suffice it to say, we put the senior dog in our pack to sleep last night. Lilly was a Basenji, a barkless dog, but that doesn't mean she was quiet. She would yodel when she was really excited, and give you a piece of her mind if you ever touched her tail or woke her up when she wanted to sleep. She was a real character. I use a space heater in my man cave, and she would always curl up as close to it as possible to leech all the warmth she could. It will be weird not seeing her there. At almost 15 years old she had a good long life, but that doesn't make it any easier.

Sorry for your loss Gavin I bet she had a great life. It is never easy putting a pet down!

Keep your head up brother,
Paul

Sorry Gavin. Hard to lose your furry family members.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss Gavin. I know how hard it is as we lost my precious Brodie this past June. I'll be thinking about ya.

Sorry to hear. I have a 15 year old dog my wife has had since she was 16. Going to be a hard day when thay day comes.

Our original three dogs are now resting forever, so I know the pain you must be feeling.  I comfort myself knowing that our dog's lives were as good as a dog could get, with lots of love and closeness.  Great food, sleeping in bed with us, on our lap most of the time we were sitting down, etc.  I'm sure you did the same for your dog.  Happy non stop, tail wagging....good times for everyone.

Focus on the good times, and try to remember them and smile.  It'll come with time.

Sorry for your loss....

Sorry to hear about your loss.  Losing a love one (even if it's a pet) is never an easy thing.

Sorry for you loss. We lost our little Phoebe after 13 years a couple of weeks ago. It's still hard.

Man, I'm so sorry to hear that, Gavin.  Dogs become part of the family, and it doesn't hurt any less when they pass than it does a person.  Condolences, friend.

Really sorry to hear that.  Me and my wife just got our first dog 4 years ago and it's already hard to just think about how she won't be around forever, can't imagine how you're feeling.

That's so sad Gavin. Thoughts with you :(. I know how much a part of my family out pups are. Keep your chin up.

Sorry for your loss, I'm certain your companion couldn't have asked for a better owner.

Sorry for your loss brother. Pets are always a difficult one for sure. We have work, computers, cell phones, hobbies, sports, movies, tv, etc., to keep us busy and entertained through out the days, yet our animals only have us. Dogs truly are a 'man's best friend', and losing one is a sad day indeed. Thoughts and prayers...Feel better Gavin.

Sorry to hear about your little girl. I had a Basenji as well and you are right...they took no crap from ANYTHING or ANYONE!

Being so unique in personality, those are shoes that will never be filled quite the same, but when you do remember her, a smile will break out on your face.

I think the hurt felt when we lose a pet is worst than other loses....they ask for nothing and only give us love, fun, and loyalty. It's impossible not to miss that kind of relationship....there will always be a hole in your heart where she once lived.

Hang in there Gavin...your Little Lady is still in good hands.

Very sorry to hear this Gavin. It's very difficult to loose a member of the family.
My wife and I are looking at getting a dog now, we have both lost some in the past and that's the part I'm not looking forward to.
