It's amazing how your tastes change and develop over time. 7 years ago I smoked lower end to average cigars. About 5 years ago I tried an AF and didn't think very highly of it. Actually thought it was too strong. Today, I smoke an AF and love it. I tried some lower end cigars this weekend, and didn't like them. Tried some decent light cigars, didn't like them. Just not enough flavor. Now I require full bodied cigars with tons of flavor. I couldn't even think of smoking a machine made today. Anyways, it's just interesting how your tastes develop, and how after years of smoking you can actually pull out the different tones and flavors. Very interesting...

What are some recommendations for good full bodied maduro cigars? Robusto is my size.

I have some Camacho's in the trade area strong, maduro only.
Also espresso is good any way you look at it.

Montecristo Robusto Edicion Limitada is my favorite. They say it's medium-full but definately packs a nice punch

CAO Brazilia, any size. Amazons are close to robusto, more like double corona

I wholeheartedly endorse psyktek here. The Brazilia is a darn good cigar and I try to snatch one that comes my way in any pass. I have a piranha that I've been dying to smoke, but haven't found the time to smoke for some odd reason. The crazy thing? I smoked an anaconda this weekend and thought it was less intense as (or perhaps less "spicy"?) than the MX2. I'd recommend the MX2 as well. That one grabs you by the collar and lets you know that it means business.

I found this review on a site in regards to the Brazilia....

Right up front, the flavors are rich and intense. Both semi-sweet and peppery spices are present, along with hints of musty leather. They mellow slightly as you reach the middle and the hints of leather are replaced by nuances of cocoa. The intensity picks up again quickly as you reach the finish, where rich, earthy, peppery spices take over completely. This was one of those cigars that I didn’t want to put down and smoked them well into the last quarter, where the flavors of rich pure tobacco and peppery spices can overwhelm you.

Strength: They start out, right in your face, full bodied and they basically stay that way through the finish. The last quarter can be very full bodied and loaded with nicotine.

I'd have to agree with comments about it at the beginning and end of it. As you're in the middle part, it's very nice and pleasant and then picks up again to reiterate it's taste to the smoker. The end is just the best.

By full bodied - he means don't try to stand for 20 minutes after completion
(30 with alcohol involved)

Concur on both the MX2 and Brazilia....

Cohiba Red Dot has some good full bodied sticks.

Maduros? Padrón 1926 Serie Maduro, Padrón 1964 Anniversary Maduro, AF Añejo would be a good place to start.

Trinidads and onyx reserve.
Gurkha legends are awesome also although the wrap is not maduro its nice and strong with a ton of flavor.

Amen.
The Añejo No. 50, the maduro No. 9 from the 1926 line and the PAM Exclusivo are all hard to go wrong with.

I second the Partagas black, what a good one!.

This phenomenom is very similar to the evolution of my wine cellar. I can now see my humidor making the exact same evolution :p
