I was lucky to obtain one of these in my very first bomb here not long after becoming a member of CP (Thanks Infinty). After a crappy week at work, Sunday seemed like the perfect excuse to treat myself to what I consider a special occasion cigar. Let's take a look at this work of art.
Everything of this sample speaks of class from the coffin box to the beautifully designed band art scheme.
Here are the following stats. on the Double Robusto.
Size: 5 3/4 x 52
Wrapper: Cameroon (some tooth noted)
Filler: Dominican Rep.
Binder: Dominican Rep.
Msrp: Not sure......Average price seems to run around $25.00 (from my web searches on box prices)
When I pulled the cigar from the cello and examined it, the first thing I noticed was how tight it was rolled. Also noted was how great the construction was. I snipped the cap and, gave a quick test draw.......perfect. This was surprising considering how tightly it was rolled. After toasting the foot I lit it up to immediately notice a creamy smooth cigar. It easily had the largest amounts of smoke compared to any cigar I have ever had the pleasure of smoking. Huge clouds of billowy white smoke on every draw.
On the first third of the cigar. I tasted heavy wood flavors with some floral notes. The second third evolved into a little spiciness with some white pepper noted. It stayed this way with the rest of the smoke retaining the creaminess throughout. The firm white ash went almost all the way down to the first band before falling. looks like it would have gone longer if I hadn't knocked it against my Stinky ashtray putting it down.
I enjoyed this cigar immensely smoking it to the nub. The smoke was still cool but, it got too hot for my fingers to hold. From the past reviews I've read this is supposed to be a full bodied cigar. I would put it in the medium body class.I'm Glad to say I have a box of ten sitting in the humi. I can't wait to see what age does for them.
I would highly recommend to anyone who has not tried one of these to do so,if price is not a factor.
