Ok...I tried one of the cigars he sent me. Epuus torpedo.

This was several days ago at 3:58pm. The construction was pretty good except that at the head, it was kinda loose but nothing major. The cut was really good as well. I lit the cigar up and the draw was just right for me. The impression I got from the cigar was that it needed some aging time. It had that young taste to it but one thing it reminded me of was Folgers Coffee and this was at 4:03pm. The coffee after taste was pretty obvious for me and I actually enjoyed that part of the cigar. While smoking this cigar to the nub, I did get subtles hints of a camp fire smell to it. And I mean subtle because if I didnt pay attention to it I would have probably over looked it completely. It reminded me of going camping as a kid. Ahh memories..There was also a distinct earthy taste to the cigar. The burn stayed pretty good the whole time. I have one more to smoke and will see if my first observation to this cigar are spot on or if I missed some thing. I can say this...the cigar pretty much stayed consistant with what I picked up on.

All in all I gave this cigar a 6. I think with some age it would get better so I'm in no hurry to smoke the 2nd one. I will also be topping this one with other cigars he gave me to try and write a review about.

I think you mean Equus? Here's my review of one. LINK

I have another resting for a while......long while.

Yeah thats the one I smoked and smoking the other one Scott sent me. I'm really digging this one. In my book...way better than the Equus Pyramid. Will right a review and attach it to this one. I was talking with Buen Cosecha while I smoked this one.

This cigar is like 5" x 50 gauge. The wrapper was in really excellent shape with minor veins. After inspecting the cigar, I cut it with my Xikar that was just replaced and was the 2nd cigar to be cut with it. So the cut went very nicely.
I took a predraw before I lit it and I loved it. Was a perfect draw in what I search for. At 12:41am I lit this cigar up and didnt have any trouble. It roared to life real fast.

Off the first couple of puffs, it had a nice spiciness to this stick. It kinda reminded me of a Opus X in that sense. Yes, I know...Its no Opus. Trust me I know that. But I want to make sure to anyone that reads this that I understand that fact and so will they. The smoke had a mildness to it. It was pretty pleasing to the sense. Nothing fancy and neither was it offensive. It really hit the spot for me. I noted the transitions how it it the tongue. It started off at the tip of the tongue and slowly worked its way to the middle while smoking this cigar.

Around 1am, the spiciness I detected start to mellow out. At this point a couple of times I could tell the smoked kicked it up a notch. The wrapped did split in 2 different places. The first was around the middle and didnt hurt the cigar whatsoever. The other one was in the middle of the last 1/3 of the cigar. Again, it didnt detour from the experience of smoking this cigar.

At 1:12am, I noticed a slight sweetness taste in my mouth while puffing on this cigar and this would be around the 1/2 way point of this cigar. It blended well with the hint of spiciness of this cigar. The second crack took place around 1:20am. The sweetness stayed to the end. It did start to get a little hot so i put the cigar down so it would cool down after 1:40am. That went back to way the cigar was pretty consistant with how it this cigar progressed. I was gonna stop smoking it but I decided to give it a chance cuz sometimes I smoke the cigars to fast.

I did get some water while smoking this cigar and the choice was the Ozarka spring water. For the price of this stick, I wouldnt mind smoking more of these. It was a pretty pleasant experience. Now for the only real draw back that I had and that was the burn. It was kinda of a pain here and there throughout the cigar. Now the last 1 1/2" the burn went even and I am pleased it that. I spoke with Buen while smoking this cigar and answered his questions to what my impressions of this stick was. I really preferred this one tons more over the Equus. All in all, I'd give this stick a 7 to 7.5 out of 10 scale. Like I said, I would put more of these sticks in my humidor for a cigar under the $5 range since Buen said the price. I'm really impressed with this cigar and no, as I told him, I wouldnt stroke his ego and make it up. So with that said, I am going to finish this cigar and it looks like I am going to numb it. Thanks to Scott for sending me this stick and Buen for producing it so that we could try it.

Ps for the edit to add this. I let the cigar go with about 1" left.
