Is it just me, but when you order a bunch of boxes by mail, and they show up at 100 degrees with 40% humidity, is it dang near impossible to let them rest in the humidor? Because dang, I’m like a kid in a candy store but mon won’t let me take one.

Every purchase, I make a point to burn a stick from that purchase within ~48 hours from the time it hits my door.
It's all about having a baseline to judge future sticks from the same box.

Can confirm that letting cigars ROTT test for a couple of weeks is best.

as I got back into this hobby, I ordered some of my favorites from the past. Tatuaje P4s in this case. Along with others. But I’ve never gone wrong with tatuaje.

I burned one right off the truck. I was hugely disappointed. Bummed out actually. Had to remind myself it was fresh off the truck. So I put them down and left them for a few weeks. Few weeks later, as in last night, burned a second one. MUCH better. MUCH better.

so patience, even a couple weeks of it, is worth it.

its ok though. The thing to remember is to have enough types of smokes to be able to buy a box, stick it in the back and forget about it. Just getting back into the hobby doesn’t allow for that, yet.
