Gary(grateful1) kindly sent me some Johnny-O pipe tobacco!

Thanks, Gary!

I tried it and it has great flavor. Sweet and nutty. A bit of a bite, though. I thought it might be a good blending tobacco. Has anyone experimented with it?

Steve

I've put some HdM pipe tobacco in some other blends and it adds body and strength to about everything I've tried. They've been mostly English or Oriental blends. One of the best was Altadis' Fox and Hound free sample pouch I got. It was quite a surprise. It doesn't go well with really heavy Latakia blends, but something that isn't too heavy in Latakia works well.

A lot of the blends out there with cigar leaf in them are heavy in Virginias and/or contain Perique as well.

Good luck!

I mixed some of the HdM in Boswell's Bear Blend & Hunter's Choice with pretty good results. Strong stuff tho!!

Did the same with some Christmas Cookie last week. Doesn't take much to give it a nice pop.

I thought you only did that in Brownies?

???

LOL!

I've always thought outside the box a bit. In high school I consumed both corned beef hash and Electric Twinkies (the frosting injection ports on the bottom beg to have something small, cylindrical and trail-blazing stuck in 'em) on more than one occasion.

Darn good thing tobacco and my girl are my only vices these days...

Back OT, I think a pound of the La Escepcion or Partagas pipe tobacco is more than a lifetime's worth for me...

You're bang on with the English suggestion, Alan. I think it compliments the Latakia well.

It seems to add something to everything I blend it with but it's a "wow" with Peretti Park Square! ;)
