Sometimes a cigar is just right for the ocassion at hand. Allow me to set the stage:
On a spooky and clear (can you say rare) February Seattle evening I fired up the Fuente Opus X Toast Across America. Thanks to Moki for graceing me with this fine, fine smoke. It was a celebratory evening. With my old, loathed job behind me and a new and exciting career opportunity ahead, I needed a special something: That something came by way of a bottle of 85' Dom and a special stick from Mr. Fuente. The timing was right for this one boys!
I set out for a walk around the neighborhood and a little full moon viewing (did I say rare?)
Upon ignition I was hit with a mouth full of jalapenos. God, I love spicey cigars.
The wrapper of the Opus X was lovely and smooth. A nice medium draw and the right amount of smoke ensued. Mmmmmm...tasty. I experienced a little canoeing, but I believe this was due to my tendency to keep em' too moist (hey, I'm working on it). Never-the-less, I enjoyed the hell out of this smoke.
I mulled over each mouth full of smoke and tasted hints of cayenne and ass kicking espresso. Again, spicey with a great bite.
This is a great cigar for making you feel alive. You feel it deep down inside where it counts. I'm not the least bit afraid to say that I caught a very pleasant buzz from the Toast. Ya' gotta love that.
The only bad point of this cigar is its pungent smoke. The wife reports that the smell permeated through the house, despite the fact that I smoked the cigar outside. Needless to say, I will be leaving my outfit in the garage The only thing that could have made this smoke better was some time in the humi. Pretty stout and a bit of mellowing wouldn't have hurt it.
You've done OK Mr. Fuente.
