While I have had the privilage of smoking more than a few FFOXs, tonight's [or rather early morning's] experience was one of the most memorable.
My secret santa pack arrived yesterday, but I refrained from opening it until my classes were done for the semester [today]. Inside were yummy treats, including an Opus X. While a follower of the principal of letting cigars rest [from their trip] for a bit, this semster has been the best so far and I felt it needed a salute.
So I rescheduled hanging w/ the girfriend tonight and set out for a great smoke. Accompanying me were two cans of Coke [my fave. drink w/ a cigar], my CD player, Josheph J. Ellis' "His Excellency; George Wahington" [a very good read], and my cigar.
Tho it was quite cold and windy, forcing more than one relight, I was able to enjoy many pages of reading and an excellent cigar.
As always, the wrapper was dark and a little reddish, firm to the touch throughout and free of damage. The smoke was volumnous and full.
The coke did well to cool the tounge and enhance the relative strength and spice of the cigar.
It was everything one could wish from the Fuente's, full flavour, but not too strong, well rounded in style throughout, with that wonderful spicy kick to it slightly reminicent of quality Mexican food.
I must reccomend this as a brand to enjoy. While it is not the most affordable cigar out there, it is one worth every penny.
All in all, a perfect night [save the freezing of my fingers].
