So I smoked one of these after the first Opus X 'A' (some hours later) and after a full meal, and it just didn't do anything for me.

I can't describe it exactly as I was in the midst of festivities, but I remember being quite disappointed, and basically lighting another Opus A after it went out less than 1/2 burned.

Thats surprising, i'ts the first bad review I've heard for these so far. I haven't had one myself. I think I would have smoked it all the way though, you never know if its going to take a better turn at the end, and its just too rare of a cigar not to experience to the end.

Rare or not...if it's unmemorable, it ain't worth it. I've had sticks do that. Cuaba salamone did that to me. I had to go check the humidor to make sure that I did in fact smoke one. I was grilling all day, so it's easy to forget whatcha got burning. Sometimes you need that peaceful afternoon to really enjoy the subtleties of a cigar.

Of course if you didn't want the other one :whistling:

My thoughts exactly. I loved to two that I've smoked so far. If you don't want the other one... :whistling: Addy's in my profile!

I probably didn't deserve to smoke it...I got to try a Forbidden X.

It kicked my a$$.

This is one of the strongest smokes I've ever had.

Try a Power Ranger :whistling:

My girlfriend just got me one from Casa Fuente...it's the Opus XXX Belicoso, right?

Holy hell.... that's like putting a knife threw my heart. Best cigar I've ever smoked. I'd be more than willing to take (cash or trade "opus a!") that last one off your hands, you probably hurt it feelings badmouthing it's brother! :sign:

Well the cigar has a black "forbidden X" band, in a clear glass tube with a black plastic top with grey foam under it, I think the band on the outside of the glass is red, and the stick is cedar wrapped with a black ribbon around the foot of the cedar.

Yep, from the Platinum DVD set. The best cigar I've ever had, IMHO.

Now I'm scared!!! My old man picked up 2 of them for me (out of a box at a local cigar shop) and they have been in my humi since about May. I thought (with the rarity and reading a thread here that they won't be made again and all that jazz) that it would be a good cigar to hold onto for a special occasion.

With that in mind, I decided that I would buy the platinum DVD (just came in the mail yesterday!) and smoke one soon, and save the other 3 to have the night before my wedding (I think in May 2006) with my old man and my future father in-law. I was all excited about that idea until I saw this thread today.

Should I be worried and start looking for an even better cigar to celebrate the wedding??? Her father is really big into his cigars and has a palate for food/wine/cigars like no one I've ever met. Don't want to bring this out for him if it really isn't a great smoke.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!

Ah okay, so it was the platinum DVD set... interesting. It's one of my favorite cigars... I love 'em, more than the regular production Opus. If you have any spares, PM me and we can trade.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.
