Didn't smell good, didn't taste good, and wasn't good. Only thing it did well was burn fast. Put it down mid-ship and walked away. Bah!

Maybe you should try another. I've never had a DC that was bad. But that's just me :)

Sounds like you had a cigar that wasn't stored right to begin with. These are normally very good cigars - both in taste and in construction.

I agree with Sam and AVB here Mr. Bones. I have NEVER had a Don carlos that wasn't fan-freekin-tastic. That is my favorite line from Fuente. If it burned fast and tasted bad, and especially if it smelled bad, I would have to guess that your DC was allowed to dry out for far too long at some point before you got it. Get another one and try it before you give up on the Don Carlos. ???

I guess they've started faking these now...
I left one of these in my Jeep in 100 degree heat from morning till night. It was shrunken and wrinkled and generally depleted when I found it. Since it was the last cigar I had with me, I sparked it. Other than the fact that it burst into flames and had to be smothered by a beach towel that was befouled with sand and seawater, it was still full of flavor and enjoyable. And hey, my eyebrows grew back in less than 3 months!
PM me for my addy and I'll dispose of these for you TB. ;)

I'll give it a go again sometime, but I'm not in any hurry. The stick spent a good share of time in a friends humi and was well kept. It then stabilized in mine for a week after his giving it to me. Should have been fine...but it wasn't :(

I didn't really dig the Untold Story Maduro either. Granted, it wasn't near as bad as this thing was, but maybe I'm just not a Fuente guy.

IME they are quite harsh and bitter right off the truck. Give 'em a year and you've got yourself a pretty good cigar.

Since you liked the Opus X cigars, this is impossible. ;)
