I had picked a couple of these up around christmas time, and really had expected them to sit forever for the "right time". well today was my best friends birthday so I decided the time was right to turn him onto one. First off- a beautiful job on the construction of these cigars not a blem or mistake anywhere. I worries about the burn issues with them being so "fresh" as well as the dos capas aspect. Both burned razor sharp- perfect- and mine never dropped the ash, even though I nubbed it. Granted these are not large cigars, but the fact that it held on- with no particular care- is pretty amazing. The flavor was great- like the smell of a good cigar shop- the leather and wood, as well as all of the tobacco smells you smell at a shop mixed together. Not super anything other than flavorful. Medium draw, with no hotness or bite. I didn`t notice the maduro or the natural affecting the front end of the taste- but the length of the aftertaste was different depending which part was dominate. Bought the cigars for 11.95 each- and would be glad to spend that on them all day- if I ever see another!

One of my favorite little sticks! I love thier unique flavor profile.

Can't imagine the ash never falling off or an $11.95 price though. I am always happy if I can find a whole box in the $400 to $450 range. Maybe a whole sealed box just brings a premium.

no, I have a dealer that charges msrp- and had maddie hems all kinds of opus and anjeos as well as the BTL- but of course there are limits to # you can get. I am lucky that this guy is so cool- there are not enough shops here for there to be any reason to compete. As far as the ash- I don`t think I have had a ash on any cigar hold that length- but as I said prob a once in a lifetime find for me and perfect.

Don`t know what to tell you about that one..... I bought 2 BTLs and a humidifier element. that was 19 bucks- my total was 44 and I used 10$ worth of credit i had at the shop for a total bill of 34 and change. I guess he must be selling a buck under msrp unless it is a tax related issue.(I don`t know the msrp of the cigar- i only assumed that it was due to the low price).

Just bought a couple from a gouger here in Fl. for $18/stick. :angry2: Hated seein em that high, but had to get a few cause I had never seen one in person.

I bought a couple from a shop that has the lowest prices in OC. But they were selling them for $16.99 ($12.99 plus 47% Cali. Tax). I asked them why such a high price-tag and they said that that is what Fuente sells them the box for...it's on the invoice. So who knows the real MSRP and what Fuente sells the boxes for on the invoice. Just want to know.

Thanks for the review. I've always been interested in the barber pole look, but I never could figure out how they might smoke.

I also didn't realize how rare they were. I saw a couple at a shop about two weeks ago (for about $15), and I should have grabbed them.

Thanks for the review. Don't see many posts about actually smoking these - a lot of us, me included, seem to collect them more than smoke them! Maybe I will dig one out and try it!

  No Shit! :p

Well, I decided to smoke one for myself.... incredible! The first half was (to my uneducated palate) heavy with espresso flavor with hints of leather. I found myself hotboxing it and had to force myself to slow down, it was so good. The second half was more leather/wood like, and I bid it farewell with about 5/8's of an inch left. One of the best I've ever had so far!

I saw it around me for 18.50 a stick. Too steep for my taste. I tried to bid one at c-bid but that they went for 25 bucks. when we are talking those kinds of prizes, I want to see Cohibas written somewhere :p :D

I picked up a single stick here in MO for $11.95 as well. Looks like it'll be lit soon after reading this review!

Hey Fetter, where in the OC is this shop you speak of...? I'm allways looking to try a new location. I've never tried a BTL. My local shop had some a while back but they were $24.99 and I just couldn't bring myself to buy one for that price.

Ok, I officially hate all of you!

I can't find BTL's anywhere up here in gouger-land, and the ones people sell here on CP are always gone before I find the post! :angry2:

But the one I did try, thanks to a very kind, if cranky, BOTL was superb. But, for the price one finds them at, I was turned onto the WOAM and love it even more... \

But nice review!
