I managed to purchase a few of these recently and just couldn't wait to have one. As I took it with me to the bar I figured that I would take note of it so I could share my experience with the group.
Once I removed this stick from its cello and cedar rapping, I took an eye to this cigars form. I quick look revealed a thick sun-grown wrapper that was leather brown, and with just one heavy vein running around the cigar. Even thought this character was apparent a few gentle squeezes reassured me of the construction. I felt no plugs, and no gaps.
I reached for my cutter and sniped off the nicely fitted flat top cap and gave the cigar a taste and dry draw. A consistent amount of air gave me a nice nutty and sweet taste of things to come.
A gentle toasting and a few starting puffs and we were off. A little spice and sweet cheered the occasion.
Between the conversation and drinks a few things may have been lost to me, but not too many. I took note of the thick smoke and sweet aroma. Of the things that caught my attention the taste of bee's wax and almond came out for a nice portion of the cigar.
I took this one to the nub, stopping around the 1/8” mark. By this point a little heat helped to let out a little leathery tingle.
This was a very nice smoke. The sun-grown wrapper is a nice change in the 8-5-8 configuration from Fuente. Makes me glad a grabbed more than one.
