So my buddy that lives in the domincan republic came to the states over the holidays and he brought me plenty of cigars. He lives in Santiago and as far as I know there are cigars lying all over this city. He brought me some partagas churchills, some Flor de Gurabo brand I've never heard of as well as some fonseca's so I've got plenty of humidor filling smokes. So I was wondering if anyone has heard of or had a flor de Gurabo?

Crazy, I just got 2 boxes of these myself. No one seems to know a single thing about these cigars.

Have you had a chance to smoke one yet?

my buddy brought them and since its winter in missouri they were a little bit dry by the time I got em so I smoked one and it was pretty mild but definetly for being free it was great

Thanks for you reply...If you dont mind I have 2 more questions for you.

I only started smoking a year ago when I visited the Dominican, so Im a pretty big beginner, I just like them smooth and good tasting. I got these boxes from someone who teaches with my wife, he had a friend ship them in.

So, based on the quality, how much would you compensate for 2 boxes of these? Keep in mind I won't be paying the "US" value for them, more the DR value plus some added incentive.

Second, how would you rate these compared to a Dominican Cohiba. Thats typically what I will smoke since I know I can trust them.

And third, do you have any recommendations for good yet inexpensive cigars? Im about to by my first 50 ct humidor to accomodate these FG's, and am wondering where to go next!!

Thanks for all your help

baaaaaaaaah :sign:

i thought you were giving out free cigars..

i see free and I have to click.. :whistling:

Where are the free cigars??? I'm in line.... C'mon, cough 'em up and noone gets hurt!!!!

Whats so strange?

I did give my uncle a few of these, he said they were a pretty decent cigar!

I can't figure out why no one knows about these...are they new?

Sorry to anyone I confused but Im not giving out smokes. hhortsch I'd say to answer your question
1. The DR value I would estimate somewhere around 40 USD.
2. Definetly no cohiba but a worthwhile smoke regardless.
3. Thirdly for a cheap and completly worthwhile smoke get some la vieja habanas these are cheap but full of flavor and very spicy. I think you can get a box of 20 for like 35 bucks. Or go to your local tabocconist and get some house smokes.

Huh, not sure why, but the theme to the Twilight Zone is running through my head right about now! ???

Let me have some of that Popcorn.

Why in thee He11 are you looking for inexpensive cigars if you already smoke dominican cohiba's?

See,

I heard that my wife teaches with someone from Dominican, so I told her to have him send in some cigars. I paid him $65 for 50, and usually I pay $7 for one cohiba. So Im trying to see what the true value of these are!

Bat Chief, don't be greedy! Pass it around!
