Fraud Alert! All Retailers!

BEWARE if you get orders with this shipping address!
We got about 6 today, from different names and credit cards all shipping to this address, all fraud. Thought I would give you all a heads up.

How does that play out? They order from different credit cards and when it's delivered to that address they just take it off the front steps? They wouldn't be stupid enough to send it to their own house would they?
 
I dont know how they do it, but they have all the valid info for the cards they are using, they did not get us for any order, but they could have if we had not been really on the ball.

I just wanted to give all the retailers out there a heads up.
 
Old Orchard Beach is about 30 mins North of me in Maine. MDMAN I am glad you guys were on the ball.

If my number was one of those getting charged and someone in Maine was getting them...I know I would be more than pissed.

It would end up as a loss to the retailer if the charges were reversed...I would have got the credit reversed or funds back to my debit card, the guy in Maine would have the cigars and mdman would be out the cost of the cigars plus have to pay for the transaction to boot.

If the guy in Maine is not trying to commit fraud, I'm sure he would call the shop as soon as he found out he was denied. If he's trying to commit fraud, he's just going to keep shopping around until he gets someone to take his order.
 
its a group of people, ordering from different places in the US, but having orders shipped to the same address.... its not just one person, but they always ship to the same addy...

look out for that address in the shipping...

If I knew it was my card I would be there waiting until the box arrives and someone tries to "claim" it. Then its a swift Louisville slugger to the knees in the name of justice.

Mike quick question can you flag the address to UPS as a bogus one? I'm sure if enough people complain the police will get involved.
 
What I believe they do is have it initially shipped to the bogus address, they then call UPS or FedEx before it gets to the address and tell them that nobody will be home and they don't want to leave it there, and they will come to pick it up at UPS or FedEX.
 
I dont know if they will flag a box, I never shipped anything, Im not sure about how they are picking up the boxes, but the police in the area have been notified and its up to them how they take care of it...
Hopefully they will do something, as the orders amount to a pretty large loss if they were processed, and I know of 2 other cigar shops that have shipped to that address so far.
 
Maybe a past councilman will help...since they may live there...

Maybe these guys can tell you who lives across the street.

I still would contact the fuzz and the Credit Card Company to let them know.
edit- or did the CC tell you it was fraud?
