Allow me to revisit my previous statement regarding my inability to smoke stuff like this w/ out the generosity of a damn good friend. Hell, even if he didn't send me nearly unobtainable cigars I'd still like the heck out him.

At-any-rate, this cigar is a winner.

-Heavy in the hand, just as a good robusto should be
-Excellent construction w/ no veins and a lovely maduro wrapper

-Good, clean clip
-Easy ignition

-Hints of hazelnut and that hearty taste I can only describe as maduro
-Full-bodied througout. A meaty, full-bodied cigar that would be the perfect end to a steak dinner
-Plenty of smoke...although it was yellow. I've never experienced this before. Interesting. I can only suspect that said friend pee'd on my cigar, hence the color of the smoke. Rat bastard
-Didn't hold an ash well, which surprised me for an Opi. Wind could have been the culprit though.

This was a good one guys. If you happen upon the opportunity don't turn it down. I caught my typical Opus buzz and sit here w/ a smile on my face. My only complaint about this cigar is the price. But hey, the great things in life are rare. Kind of like seeing someone walk into a telephone pole or spotting a midget, right?

A solid 91.

This is one I have been wanting to try. Are they a limited production item? I have never seen any Opus X in the shops I go to. I'm going to try a couple places in the city next week.

Regular Opus X cigars are released a few times a year, because of limited production -- so they aren't always the easiest cigars to find. The cigar Tony is talking about is a rather rare Maduro Opus X cigar, which can only be gotten via charity raffles, if you got one of the 100 Forbidden X humidors, or from Carlito Fuente... or in trade with someone who obtained one from one of the aforementioned sources.

To summarize what Moki said, finding any of the Forbidden X's is much harder than finding a production Opus X. The Robusto Maduro can't be purchased in a store.

I'm not sure, but I think the going rate is about $100 per stick at auction. The resident "Fuente Whores" might be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate.

hrm, same rating as the 2003 Monte #2's you have. That means you'll trade me any Opus X Maduros you have for some 2003 Monte #2's? I'm in!!! :D

That's the taste rating my friend. If we were talking about the exclusivity rating I'd have to say "not a snowball's chance in Arizona." :D Just my being in the presence of the Forbidden X has made me a far, far more desireable, interesting, and attractive man. :sign:

I didn't know the forbidden x line was a special thing.

Are the regular Opus X available in Maduro?
