I picked up this pass from ALT's "operation just cause" pass. This cigar has an awesome appearance. This baby has a natural slightly veiny wrapper that is smoooooth to the touch. I cut it using my guillotine cutter and lit away. Construction wise, this one needs some help. The draw is very tight and does require some effort during the first half of the cigar. No wrapper or burn issues at all, it's very respectable in that regard. no tunneling or anything like that. It starts off with a nice nutty flavor and then develops into a more earthy taste as you progress. Ironically enough, the draw got better as it progresses. It did give out a good amount of smoke, though not enough to bother the other patrons to make sniping comments. I drank a fat tire beer and found that it really complimented the cigar very well. After taking a drink, I swear the flavor was enhanced and that I could taste "more" of it. :) It burned nice and cool as a larger ring gauge cigar should and it produced a wonderful aftertaste as well. It's a medium bodied cigar, so our maduro fans might want to skip it, but if you like all levels of cigars, this is one that belongs in your humi!.

CB sells them in a 'sampler' 5 and 5 with cao extremes. I picked up a couple packs for around $15 each. GREAT cigar for $1.50. I still like the CAO better.

Are you referencing the CAO Gold? I guess the two would be roughly similar. IMHO, the CAO would only win out due to the construction of the Fonseca. The cigars are similar in a lot of ways....though I haven't had a gold in awhile to speak authoritatively on that.

No, I meant the CAO L'Anniverary eXtremes. The Golds are a nice light smoke, but the eXtreme is what I was refering to.
