I have only been a serious smoker for the last couple months so I have been waiting to review a stick that has really caught my attention. This is obviously not a rare stick but i genuinely enjoyed it.
Arturo Fuente
Flor Fina 8-5-8 Maduro
Origin: Dom. Rep. .
Wrapper: USA/Conn Shade
Binder: Dom. Rep.
Filler: Dom. Rep.
Place of purchase: Local B & M
Smoking Results
SIZE: 6 x 47
APPEARANCE: The appearance was a nice chocolate brown, a bit veiney, not the nicest looking wrapper
CONSTRUCTION: Was very good, haven't seen a bad fuente yet
DRAW: Perfect draw, nice amount of creamy smoke
BURN: Was pretty good, needed two touch ups
FLAVOR: Was nice, smooth maybe a touch of licorice in the end
STRENGHT: was more mild-medium
SMOKING TIME: roughly 1 1/2 hrs
GENERAL IMPRESSION: Great stick at the moment could be my go to smoke
Lay out: I was sitting on my front porch, had a fresh brewed cup of vermont blend coffee, I-pod touch ( was watching I Am Legend w/ Will Smith). I used a double bladed cutter, cut was real smooth, followed by a light with my single flame torch lighter. Preburn smelt fantastic, and lit up with no problems
1/3
Had a very creamy smoke, burn started up a little off. I tried to see if it would catch up but had to touch it up. First ash held on for about 30 mins and was aprox. 1 3/4". The ash was white.
2/3
Still smoking real nice, the flavor changed to be a little sweeter. Sorry but that's the best description I could give. No bitter moments, never got too hot. The second ash held on for about another 30 mins. and started to realize this was just a mild-medium smoke.
3/3
Towards the end I got a taste of what I thought was a licorice flavor. Ash got to be around 1" with maybe 2 1/2" left of the cigar. The taste started to change to the bitter side so I thought it would be best to sit it down to rest
This was a very enjoyable smoke. I still have 3 more sitting in my humi. I have a feeling this weekend I will go back and pick up some more. My local B&M has a well stocked humi of AF. My next smoke will be a sun grown chateau I think.
