Hi all,

I've got several brands of cigars that I am storing in a humidor, but probably not in their boxes. I have left everything in their plastic sleeves.

Do I need to worry about flavor migration? Has anyone here had flavors migrate in this situation?

I've tried to search on the subject, but I've had no luck.

Thanks!

You will only need to worry about this if you have flavored cigars along w/ regular cigars.

The plastic sleeve is called, cello.

Yeah, I've already gone through the cello/no cello search, but the focus was always on the affect on humidity.

Thanks for a very speedy reply!

I'll piggy back with Brandon on this one. I don't have much longevity on anything in my humi, but I haven't noticed any cross flavoration (can I make up words?)

But I don't smoke flavored sticks, just to be safe I wouldn't store them in the same humi though.

Bottom line: All my sticks sleep in the nude and they all like it.

I believe that Cuban cigars and N/C cigars should
be stored Separately. Anyone here who smokes flavored cigars should be drawn and quartered and his head placed on a pike and displayed at the city gates.

Doc.

LMAO!

And WORD-UP! to Doc!

Ok - thanks for more input. No flavored cigars, other than tobacco-flavored 8-)

However, I do now have, thanks to a generous local, a cuban. He's going to sleep with the others though, as I have limited accomodations!

Na I was lucky to have some good COs and XOs when I was in...

Now if you were still a cadet I'd lay into you, fuggin silver nickles lol

I try to keep them all together by the type of wrapper. I don't know if it makes a bit of difference but it satisfies my OCD :D . However, I do keep my cubans seperate by brand (ie Party's with Party's, Boli's with Boli's). I stored a box of Party 898's with a fiver of Siglo III's and over time, the Siglo's flavor did seem to take on something from the 898's.

Too funy Doc

Death to the flavored one!!!

Ok, the flood gates are open for all the "officer" jokes, get your punches in while you can

Ok - are you a gentleman?

Wyatt, I woke up with an active brain, it is now 4:10 AM!
What's your excuse - do you ever sleep because you seem to
post at any and all times of the day?

Oh BTW, I keep my ISOM and NC sticks separate but not grouped.
I let my boxes kiss and hold hands :)

I have some cello on some off my OCD is not a strong I'm just lazy I guess. SOme in boxes in the footlocker some on trays and some just laying there homeless. I even have a small humidor inside my footlocker. I like to smoke the good burny ones first.

Well, there's a 7 hour period of every day that I never post...ZZZzzzZZzZZZzzzzZZZzZZZZzzzzz

Other than that, I'm always watching :) Keeping a close eye out for any new and late breaking smoke news, hehe.

That's ok Brickhouse get's it from this side to. They even busted on him in a meeting about it.

Luckily, it was the same way for me. Good XO's and CO's, even some of the Lt's were ok. It was rare we would even see a Butterbar thankfully. It was hard enough squaring away my new troopies, let alone having to re-train a green Lt!

I wont even get started with cadet's........ :D

Edit: spelling

Keep your really light/mild cigars away from anything that resembles medium or full bodied. Because of how little flavor there are in a light/mild cigar, you may notice a slight change in taste when stored next to something really pungent.

On the other current in this thread, I am luckily transferring to a unit where I will be the OINC equivalent. My super is an O-3 a few hundred miles away. :)
