To be 100% honest...

It was a CI Legends Red Label I was gifted with,

Legends Perdomo - Red Label:

Nick Perdomo, founder of Tabacalera Perdomo, went against the grain by producing the only figurado in the bunch. But it’s hard to argue after looking at the end product. In fact, it’s hard not to be downright giddy before, during and after sparking this beauty. Aesthetically, the cigar is stunning, a tightly wound, bullet-shaped smoke with a dark, positively first-grade sun-grown Nicaraguan maduro wrapper leaf. This leaf is eye-popping: smooth with nary a vein, glistening with natural oils, and giving off a lovely sheen. The tip of this torpedo is masterfully formed into a sharp, very pointy head. Filled to the brim with an intricate blend of aged Nicaraguan fillers, Perdomo’s medium to full-bodied treat instantly awakens your taste buds with a potpourri of wide-ranging flavors. It’s not overly rich however, and the well-balanced smoke mellows as you go, occupying the palate with clearly discernible earthy notes, followed by a slightly cedary undertone and mellow spiciness. The draw is impeccable - slow, cool, and deliberate - making this cigar journey one you’ll want to take over and over.

Well made, perfect draw, but no taste unless you like your cigars to taste like a cigarette ???

I fought with it for half its length before saying screw it and placing it on Double D's ashtray.

He was nice enough to give me one of his christmas smokes out of the box of Santa Damiana his wife gave him to cleanse my mouth and to finish my scotch with but my cigar enjoyment for the evening was over.

Anyone here with enough Perdomo experiance to tell me that I just ended up with a bum stick, or that the CI Legends blend is at fault? I have one Perdomo left in my Humi a "Perdomo Cameroon D" and I'm now reluctant to try it. My first was that bad.

The Legends have been more like Myths, at least the ones I have had. Great marketing idea, though, putting these cigar makers 'head to head'. You have to hand it to them.

I'm not sure about the Cameroon D. But the cabinet reserve are really good cigars. They are rolled pretty tight though. The Perdomo Estate Selecion is their flagship cigar. Very good cigar. Plus Perdomo rolls other cigars for JR's.

Which ones have you tried HV? And do you think its the CI blend that isn't up to snuff?

not to threadjack here but..... :p

The 1991 ESV Maduro's are to die for.....I've had five of 'em out of three different boxes and thought they were all great. The natural and cameroons are super as well, but the maduro is my fav....

carry on..... :whistling:

I've had a couple estate selections that have also been pretty good. You can get the cabinet reserve off Cbid for next to nothing. I think the CUban Cafe and Champagne are pretty good.

I have had the ESV maddie as well terrific cigar. I have also had several of the Cabinet series which I found quite enjoyable. Well. Iguess I would try a cigar because it is a Perdomo The Legend series has lived up to the expectation of a $5.00 price point and in doing so the Legend lends itself to a weaker cigar.

And you ain't just whistling dixie...

I've not had the Legend's, but all the other Perdomo's I've had were not horrible. I do enjoy the Cabinet series - just seems to be a bit overpriced... The draw and construction on every one I've had have been topnotch. IO do like the flavor profile as well.

Besides - you've always got to try more than one or two to get a true sampling of a cigar line. Hard as it may be, you gotta go back and try a couple more...

Although I'm not a huge fan of Perdomo, there are a couple that I do really like. I agree with Emodx in that the The Perdomo Estate Selecion are pretty good.

Hey Wurm, if your interested in trying a couple other Perdomos, let me know. I've got three or four in my humi that I could send you.

The construction was wonderful George but the taste was horrible. I'm going to smoke my Cameroon D later today, I'll let you know how it was.

Thanks for the offer Orangeman, but I have too many sticks in the fire ATM, maybe later. :)

The Champagne was ok,but not great.Would never buy one personally. The rest have just plain sucked. Either bad taste or canoeing or other burn issues. I'll never smoke another Perdomo again.

Admait it - you're just an ISOM whore... :p

I've smoked a lot of different perdomo's, never a legend though, I like them. The ESV are great cigars, of the La tradicion series I've had the champagne and cameroon. Both are pretty good.

I really like the perdomo2 mads and the silvios.

I could not agree more. You can't fairly judge a cigar by smoking just one of any brand. And often you may find a different size smoke in the same line to your liking.

There are a few other Perdomos that are made that are not talked of too much that I find to be very good cigars. The Perdomo Lusitania...not to be confused with the Cuban Partagas Lusitania, and the Dos Rios.

The only vendor that I know of that carries the Perdomo Lusitania is Mike's Cigars. The Dos Rios is carried by a few different vendors, one being JR's.

If you have not had a chance and can get your hands on some, you might like them.

Yea I admit it,but i still know what I like and those Prodomo's are just plain nasty. LOL :0

This was the first and only cigar that ever actually made me throw up. Had a lot to drink that night, light the red label, and up came all my dinner. Horrible tasting cigar. I do like the Cuban Café but I’ll never smoke a Legend again.

Understood. But don't sell all of the Perdomo lines short based on a bad experience with just one or two lines. Give the others a fair chance. You might be pleasently surprised. :)
