Ok BOTL here it goes. Now I’m not a writer nor claim to be any where close, so please bear with me, and laugh if you must. I have only been smoking for around seven months probably smoke 45 to 50 cigars, not cheap one’s in my opinion, like Padrons 1964 anny, Fonseca, Fuentes Hemingway’s, Camacho’s, Punch, CAO’s, Ashton’s. So I’m doing this to find out if this was a real ISOM.
Well on with my review, the appearance of the Partagas series D #4
The wrapper was a medium brown a little darker than a brown paper bag, had a red ring with four gold stripes two on top and two on the bottom with gold writing.
I used the punch on my Vector twin torch lighter, usually use a cutter. Slowly heated the cigar while turning slowly. At the beginning the taste was a little strong I thought, kind of a burning tingling feeling on the lips like pepper, that lasted for about four or five puffs.
The ash was a medium to dark gray with light hints of black, a very tight ash with a spiral texture at the tip. This cigar produce more smoke that bellowed around me then any other I have smoked, it was a nice even easy draw.
The burn was the best I ever saw no runs, didn’t need to do any repairs perfect sharp edges. During this time I was also enjoying some beers. Now don’t take this wrong but so far this was the best cigar I ever smoked I was admiring it like a pair of nice firm ----, My wife came out three times while I smoke this piece of heaven, and even mention I had the biggest grin on me she has seen since I have smoked a cigar.
Now usually about two thirds of the way though a cigar they seem to get a little better tasting to me, if that’s what you want to call it. Not this one it tasted the same from start to finish in fact I smoked it down to less than one inch, I was a little disappointed I had to let it go.
Now for the big question for the BOTL that have this pleasure all the time, does this sound like a real ISOM cigar or just a great fake. And if it is a fake I really don’t care.
Are there any NICs that I can get here in the states that compare to this cigar? Please let me know.
Oh and I know this should not be posted here so I will also post it in Habano’s reviews just incase you need to move it

I'm not very experienced either, but the few ISOM's i've smoked were the same: utterly wonderfull from tip to nub, and rather strong. In my, rather little, experience I may particularly like the beginning, middle, or end of a non-ISOM, but usually i'm not as pleased with the whole stick. And yeah, I think ISOMs burn more evenly too.

Hi Laser,

- No idea to tell what you smoked from your description. Could be real, could be fake.

- That's ok, except that if it's not the real thing, chances are not great that the next one you pick up will taste the same.

- I have not found any. Haven't smoked every NC out there but the Partagas profile is pretty different from most I have smoked.

A few pics would have helped solve the authenticity question.

One thing I noticed about most ISOMs is that the draw is actually tighter than non ISOMs and although they produce enough smoke it is not really all that thick and dense like you described, but hey if Wilkey can't figure it out ...................
