I left Mick and Ketch at the Firkin Festival still having quite a grand time! For my short stay, I was able to sample:

Surly Darkness twice (I fell in love)
Surly Furious Teabagged :whistling: Not what you think!!!
Southern Tier 400lb Monkey IPA
Founder's Double Hopped Red's Rye PA

I enjoyed this with a flat starting HDM DC from 2005

Mick is the beer connoisseur. Ketch...he's a bully :D

Sounds like a great time, decent company, and some pretty damn good beer. Surly Darkness and Teabagged.....

Sounds like a good time. Wish Surly distributed more widely. Their beers are so difficult to obtain.

Missed out on Tyranena Smoked Imperial Chipotle Porter.

Surly's beers were fantastic. Again, Todd Haag stalked me, Ketch can attest to this. Dave had some stalkers of his own, but they ended up being fun. Best beers for me were the Darkness, Tea-bagged (as usual), the oak aged Bender was fng delicious as well, and Founder's Double Dry Hopped Red's Rye was a real treat. Flat Earth, a MN brewery I had yet to try, was disappointing.

Overall, Firkin Fest was a great time. I'm glad Joe was able to make it out for a bit. The planning was a little goofy, way too many people and they ran out of beer about an hour early.

Mick,

You're already a Master 'bater :p , why not become a Master Brewer?
