I have a wonderful pipe that gurgles.

No matter how careful I am, it forms a pool of liquid in the shank and has to be swished out with a pipe cleaner every 20 mins or so...

Until now.

I bought a pack of Savinelli Balsa System 6mm Pipe Filters on a whim with just this one pipe in mind.

And they work great! So far no more gurgle (which is good since once the filter is in you can forget using a pipe cleaner) and I haven't noticed a difference in flavor while smoking.

I've tried other filter systems in the past and didn't like any of them, the Savinelli filters I think I'll keep using... at least in this one pipe.

I've taken to using these in cobs now. I've found many blends just smoke better without the wide open draw that a filterless cob provides.

They're getting harder for me to find around here and ordering them is just not cost effective. I guess I need to order more tobacco and grab a stash of these to last.

I just got my Sav a month or two ago, and I've tried it with and without the insert. I have to say, that it is much better with it in. My local has the inserts so I'll have to go buy some more quick!

I find them satisfactory only if I change them every bowl.

Doc.

I read about people washing them... but ugh... I change them every bowl as well Doc.

Yea, the couple of times I tried them they got pretty funky. I can't see washing them.
