Favorite Opus

Consistently one of my favorites is a Opus Robusto with between 1 and 2 years of age on it. I guess it has mellowed some, still plenty of sizzle, the flavors i dig are at their peak, right combo of wrapper to filler / binder, and just right amount of time to smoke. My 2nd favorite is the Power Ranger w/ 2 yrs on it, for similar reasons, and because it's an intense smoke.

What say you (and don't get mad Tkoepp, but i have to raise my per day post count, currently at 2 )

I jump for joy when I get an Opus (any Opus, regardless of vitola or age) and you guys have enough to get picky!!! :laugh:

Opus X Fuente Fuente with 2 years and also Petite Lancero with any age (but mostly when they are 2-3 years old).

Why? Just curious, i have one but haven't smoked one yet, but my understanding is it's a regular Opus blend, just a funky shape, but i might be wrong on that.

I can't remember where I got the one I smoked a few years ago, but to me it wasn't as in your face as regular Opus. It could have had a few years on it, which toned it down. It was a great smoke, mellowed out Opus flavor.


Now, my favorite regular opus is the #5. I think these are a little sweeter then others that I've had and I really enjoy them. Maybe that's just me.

But, if I had to pick a size, I would say the Fuente Fuente, because it was my first. And it was a freshie, too.

Yeah Frank is actually is better, could it be possible that you are starting to actually get this place? This thread is much more entertaining and informational than, let's say... The DONE thread.. and hmmm oh yeah the Lemonade Master clense. :sign:

The best Opus I have had yet, is probably a Forbidden X Tubos. I loved everything about that smoke.

Burned great, easy draw, not super spicy, just right! ohhhh to get my hands on more of those!!! :love:

I didn't join in the Done thread until late, and i was viciously attacked :laugh: I might have to go start 10 threads in the Lounge in your honor

I really meant regular Opus, not that it really matters. Of all the X, the Forbidden X is by far my favorite, some of us lowdown un-connected heathens ain't gotten a chance to smoke the OR or the Opie Maduro :sign:

Its hard to say what my favorite was / is as I loved the OR but it was very mild IMO, and while the Uno was really good, I think the 04' lanceros were the best.

I haven't smoked a lot of the Opus line, my first was a fresh Power Ranger that really kicked my ass, so I didn't smoke a lot after that. Of those I have smoked, the #5 was my favorite.

Besides an Opus OR, that would be my fav Opus. The Forbidden X was awesome from the start. Never had to let them rest, always great! I've got one left... which is sad. I will say I also enjoy the lanceros, out of the other rare ones I've had. The BBMF, shark, and 666 were all about the same. My fav regular releases are (in order) Fuente Fuente, Perfection 2, and perfection X. I've still not tried an Opus X Maduro (will pay just about any price! ).
