Yesterday a 24 year old local firefighter was killed in the line of duty during a routine fire. A high pressure metal water line failed and shrapnel struck him. Tragedies like this happen every day, unfortunately. There are quite a number of firefighters, law enforcement personnel, prison guards, service men and women and other professionals who are part of the CP community. I just wanted to take a few minutes and thank all of you for your service and sacrifices.

You put your lives on the line every day to keep us safe, just as those who went before you did and just as future generations will. I never met the young man who was killed, just as I've never met many of you. Just wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for what you do.

thank you, when i read posts like these it makes me proud to do what we do.

Such a sad story. So young.

Thank you for think of us. The sad fact is most people never consider what public servants do on a day to day bais. That is in large part due to the fact that we are, in fact, public servants and most of us are okay with that. My problem comes from the lip service paid to tragic losses by those higher up. Promises that our first resonders will have the best equipment or training. Then months later all that is forgotten for someone's new pet project.

But, I ramble. So again, to all BOTL thank you.

edit for poor grammar

Thank you all and keep up the great work, we couldn't go day in and day out with out you....... :)

To any public servant CP member,

In a perfect world you guys and girls would either be unemployed or doing something else since we wouldn't need these jobs, but the world is full of crime, war and tons of things that can't be controlled or prevented, so inevitably we will always rely on what you have chosen to risk your life for everyday. Some don't respect what you do and some downright hate people in your profession but the majority of us are humbled by your acts of bravery (even though we don't say it enough). I wish I could personally shake everyone of your hands, look you in the eye and thank you for what you do.

Just recently we had a fire in the housing area at the Military Academy. The firefighters really were great and controlled the fire quickly. There were over 12 children involved to include about 6+ adults and no lives were lost due to their diligence and professionalism. G-d bless you all.

In our head we may joke and jive...........

In out hearts "WE" thank you all.

Be safe and R.I.P. son

Paul
