Ever finish your cigar with an afterdinner liquor?

Did this the other night.

Surprisingly good.

Ran out of what I was drinking, on a whim got some DrambuI when I was close to nubbing the cigar.

That's not something I normally would drink and just keep on hand to offer guests. Would have some after dinner to be sharing it with others.

Not something I would drink while smoking, but right for the finish it was scrumptious.

Gonna have to try some other liquors with the finish of a cigar and see how they do.

Peasants! Of course we do. Try some Grand Mariner, B&B, Cointreau, Strega or even a stinger. You can look that one up.

Doc wrote my post for me.  B&B is one of my faves.....

You mean liqueurs ?

Drambuie is a favorite of mine.  Although not a liqueur I also enjoy Port Wine with a cigar.

Hmm for me i always like to have some vodka with my cigar mixed with orange juice or something.

I like some Grand Marnier. Tried it with Sambuca the other day and I liked it also, I added a bit of black coffee to it.

Yep, knew I had it wrong but brain farted it in there.

I've smoked cigars with Bourbon, sour mash, many single malts for decades.

I've kept B & B, Grand Marnier, Drambuie, Cointreau and other liqueurs on hand for decades also.

For some reason, I never thought of having that with a cigar. Not sure I would like them except for the finish, though.

B & B, and Grand Marnier are my personal favorites. Back when we used to entertain a lot more, I used to make up B & C by mixing benedictine and Cognac. People frequently loved it. Don't remember the proportions now, was hard to get right but once there people really enjoyed it.

I have often drank Sambuca Black with cigars. I like the sweet contrasting the sometimes bitter component in the cigar. Also like Coke, or a sweet Bourbon or Rum. Evens out the palate, and I enjoy the cigar more. If a cigar is more on the sweet side, I might have a beer with it, again, balancing the palate, and allowing you to taste the flavors of both better.

Those that Doc referenced (Grand Mariner especially) and I also like Kahlua on the rocks with a cigar. I also drink a few fingers of Drambuie on occasion.

Just don't dunk your cigar in them like they did in the '80s...so tacky!

I have never tasted Drambuie. My mom always had a bottle, and loved it, when I was a kid. What does it taste like, if that is a reasonable question?

I also have a B&B and a similar deal to Gran Marnier. Damned if I can think of the name. (Have it in a jar, original bottle's cork cap deteriorated). Love it, but use it more in Chocolate truffles that l like to make.

I like it because it's made from scotch...Speyside & Highlands whiskies I believe....and then your requisite mysterious blend of herbs & spices that a ton of aperitifs have.

If you tried to explain the taste, it's like a thicker consistency scotch with a sweet, honey like overtone of flavor. I just took a sip to try get it on my palette so I could give you an idea and that's the best I can come up with Danny!

Hah! Thanks Gary. It sounds like I need to get a bottle. I do tend to gravitate to the sweeter end of the spectrum. Will report back after I try it.
