Events at B&M?

Tomorrow there is an Oliva event at my local B&M. What really goes on at these kind of things, is it just discounts or what? Thanks.

From my experience each event is different. My local B&M does monthly events, some events have a roller from the factory, some offer a single free cigar to try and then a discount. I've been to events where alcohol was served, as well as snacks. It really depends on the B&M, there budget and how much they are willing to put into an event. I was told by my B&M that they have to pay for the rep to come out and that the price varied based on which package they wanted to offer to their clients. Not sure how much of that is true though.

As long as they are not charging you a door fee they are fun to go to. You get to meet local BOTL's and may even have the chance to try something you would never have purchased on your own.

Hope this was helpful.

When my local has events, it's usually buy 2, get one free or buy 3 get one free for whatever cigar they're promoting. With each "unit" bought (meaning each 2 or 3 cigars, depending on event) you get a raffle ticket for a drawing at the end of the night.

The prizes usually run from an assortment of smokes to a box of smokes. One event - for General Cigar, had a humidor grab. 60 seconds in the walk in to grab as many GC cigars as you can hold and walk out with.

Food is always served, hot dishes and sandwiches, and his place is BYOB. Like Grapes said, it's usually up to the store for what they do, but this is what mine does.

My local B&M (the Outlaw) has these types of events every month. They are pretty boring, and not worth traveling over great distances to go to.

Seriously the best way to find out would be to attend one. If it's fun then you've found a great way to interact with other cigar lovers like yourself. If it sucks, you aren't obligated to buy anything or stay around. Go to the next event, see if you like it.
