It appears Escudo is on the chopping block along with the Dunhill and Lane tobaccos.

HERE IS a more in depth discussion.

:(

Being a newb, I have to ask. Is it really that much better than all the other VaPers?

Damn! I haven't tried Escudo yet and it was at the top of my list. Do I buy some and then lament that it's no longer available or just skip it and be none the wiser of what I'm missing out on?

No, not really. It had a unique presentation and is considered a touchstone blend. I think McClelland's St. James Woods is much better.

Doc.

Thanks for the info, Doc. You're the third person who has recommended that blend to me. My order from cupojoes came today and I tried the Escudo. Very nice blend, for sure. It was a bit pricey, though. What gives it the orange flavor? Perique or Virginia or both?

I was impressed with cupojoes sending it so quickly and USPS, too!

I heard all the bad news from our Phillips and King rep. yesterday.

Rumor does have it that Villiger may pickup and distribute Dunhill, since they are only going down because of their packaging distributor (so I hear).

I have NOOOOO Idea why lane would discontinue some of their most popular tobaccos (LL7 and Hazelnut). It's a sad day in the pipe world.

Looks like my next paycheck will go toward some stockpiling......
