Did anyone smoke one of these yet? I found one in my stash from the Quad State HERF and gave it a go this evening. In fact I am smoking it as I write this. I can't tell if it's the Cameroon or the Maddie and my size (5.5 inches x 50+ ring) does not match anything I can find on the web.

It's a little bitter at first and quite "green" but the taste is very complex and might be a good smoke with some time on it at the bottom of the humi. I was going to chuck it out the window and watch it die in a snowbank but the taste has changed and mellowed into a nice smoke. So much so I wrote this mini review.

Anyone else try one of these?

Yep...a long time ago before they was out on the market. It starts out a little rough as you noticed but it does get much better after. Its what I would call a yard cigar. But at the price they sell for, you can't expect a Opus X.

From the Quad State Herf, that's the EQUUS Cameroon. I believe the shipment is fairly fresh, so age could be quite helpful. I agree that there is a bit of "green-ness" to it, that's if your referring to a kind of earthiness. I actually like that cameroon a whole lot. It's not a particularly spicy cameroon IMHO, but I don't necessarily look for that in a cameroon anyway. I was at the store the other day, and there was one with a pretty busted up wrapper. Instead of letting them throw it out, I figured what the hell..... it's better than nothing. I lit it up just for the hell of it, and I actually really enjoyed it. It's had kind of a sweet thing going on.

BTW, Did you smoke the Spanish Galleon you got?

Not yet but it's been taunting me from within the humidor. I've seen it there, bullying some VSG's and taking the lunch money from a CAO eXtreme. There is even an unconfirmed report of a band snatching. An execution by flame may come as early as today. If so, I'll write a review.

Those spanish galleons are fresh for sure... the shipment came in ~3 weeks ago. But I like them right now... I think that they will age QUITE well, though.
