Sean has been going to NYC to visit with the old crew. I am feeling left out and want to herf with him and his new Chicagoland crew: Sack, MattR, AlexGTP, Cochise, murkinmullet and the rest of the gang. Heck, Wyatt, if you can drive up--why not! :). How about it? Coming to town (actually O'hare Hyatt) on Wednesday, Feb 3rd. I can meet up late afternoon or early evening. Sean, I hope you are able to burn a stick or two. I am able to drive the city but would like to be closer to O'Hare than further. Hope we can get something going here. Thank you.

I'll have to try to see if I can schedule my Chicago visit during that week. It'll be good to smoke with you again, Joe.

That sounds like a great time. Unfortunately, location issues definitely arise as far as a place that stays open late enough on a Wednesday night AND allows smoking. Short of a smoking hotel room, the closest places I know of by O'Hare are Churchill N Downs in Deerfield (not sure about how late though), TESA cigars (in the city, but open till 10), Up Down (in the city, open till 10 or 11), 8 to 8 (Sam's been, but only open till 8. Closest non-city location though).

It'd be great to see both Joe and Sam at the same herf. Look forward to the 3rd!

Whatever will make this convenient for everyone. 2 yrs ago, i met up with Alex, Claudi and gang at Belicoso. I do not know if that's any better. I planning on renting a car and will be coming late morning so I can meet up as early as anyone can and stay as late as anyone can tolerate me.

Sam, let me know if above will work for you and maybe we can coordinate. Looking forward to this.

Beli is a really nice place, but definitely not convenient by any stretch to most of the Chicago crowd. I think something like the Humidor in Westmont is probably the most central location, but it also depends on who'll be coming. I think I'm done teaching that day around 3:30 and I'm coming from the city, so for me, I can get anywhere in the burbs fairly conveniently. As far as smoking after 8, the city is the only option unfortunately. TESA looks really nice from the web photos.

Let's get a head count, that way we can know who is coming and from where and then go from there. Can't wait to hang out again Joe!

I'm fairly sure I'm in. There is a chance that I have to be in Brookfield, WI that day, but I'll try my best to avoid it.
 
You're just experiencing the Chicago effect. It's hard to get more than a few of us up and about for a herf at any time, even with advanced notice. The city/state just isn't conducive to logistically being easy to get around, and our smoking laws suck!!!!!!!! I haven't seen Claudio around the board, but he's usually game. Getting 2-3 chicago folks together at once is usually as good as it gets unfortunately. So, come on Chi-town S/BOTL's, prove me wrong about us! Let's give Joe a great welcome!

Hey, let's just hold out hope they prove us wrong. You deserve a big party, you're a great BOTL to hang out with. Kristin, where will you be coming from on a typical Wednesday? Let's start trying to nail down location. I'm done teaching at 3:15 that day, so I can be to the north end of the city in 25 minutes, O'hare in 35 minutes, or West Burbs in 45.

I'm excited Joe, it's been waaaaay too long, and I owe you big time.
 
Alright. I think Tesa cigar lounge in downtown Chicago will be best. It's right off the Blue Line so Joe can get in and out easily and if Sam is able to make it, it's not too far from where we herfed last time (in fact it's a little further south in the city so technically closer). Kristin, I know coming to the city can be tough after work, but you could metra it in to Ogilve, like 5 minutes away and either cab it, or if I have my car that day (I plan to), I could pick you up. Then, since I head right back to Barrington/palatine area, I could give you a ride home.
 
i work in Schaumburg. You want me to take the Metra?!?!? I am a car girl but I will give it a shot. What line to I take?

Oh, gotcha, no train near schaumburg. Driving may be the easiest for you then, I have no idea where a train near Schaumburg would even be. I was thinking you'd be coming from Palatine.
