I wasn't sure if I was ever going to find a fitting time to smoke this fine cigar gifted to me by a friend some time ago. Its always hard to smoke a special cigar such as this knowing that you may never get a chance to smoke another. Collecting cigars is a great hobby but we all know cigars are meant for smoking and it was never truer than for this cigar. It definently was meant for smoking. I want to thank this individual (you know who you are) for such a special cigar to celebrate a very special moment in my life.
This past Sunday my daughter graduated college magna cum laude. I can not begin to explain the pride I have for her. The fact that she accomplished this while being married and raising a child makes me even more proud of her for setting goals and reaching them. My eyes swelled as she walked across the stage. That walk across the stage took maybe 45 seconds but I assure you I relived her 21 years, both good and bad, during that time. Thank you lord for blessing me.
I wanted to enjoy this cigar during the commencement but could not because of the building regulations of no smoking. After the graduation the wife and I took my daughter and about a dozen of her friends out for drinks and dinner. After the partying was done I came home and pulled out this beautiful cigar, grabbed a bottle of Pyrat from the cabinet and resigned to the comfort of the back patio. It was cool outside dropping just below 60 but the rum kept the chill in check. I spent the next hour and a half (maybe an hour fortyfive)reflecting on how fortunate life has treated me. The cigar was phenomenal. I have smoked some great cigars before but I would be hard pressed to not put this cigar at the top of the ash pile. This was seven inches of heaven. It was a time in my life that I felt the stars were all aligned in perfect harmony. The rum tasted better than I ever can remember, the smoke was the best I've ever smoked, and I doubt that I have ever been happier at any moment of my life than that night.
Thank you my friend for that special cigar to enjoy. I assure you it will never be forgotton.
