Well, after being supremely lucky enough to win one of these bad boys in a rather 'snobby' raffle some time ago, AND being gifted one for a rather lopsided trade (I was on the lesser end of the trade mind you!), I told myself that I would not smoke one until someone from CigarPass came out and went fishing on my boat with me. Well, this past weekend one lucky SOB from CP did just that... Cory, a.k.a. Blue Dragon.

So... we sat on my sisters deck, overlooking Kachemak Bay in Homer. The scenery was beautifu, altho when we started the fog had rolled inl! My faithful dogs were at our side (which, BTW, both gave the cigar two paws up!), and we had some adult beverages (local beer for Cory and a small winery Port for me) to ease the excitement. Here we go...

HOLY CRAP THAT WAS A GOOD CIGAR!!!!!!!!!

I have no words... other than to say THANK YOU for the raffle and to the member that gifted me one for our trade AND gave me the advice I adhered to... "smoke it slooooooow and easy... it's easy to get them too hot."

As usual, I have a hard time telling flavors and such... but this one gave me one thing I cannot tell even more... it was like anise, where you almost get a numb or otherwise feeling of a coating in your mouth - without the licorice flavor of anise and not in ANY way a bad feeling. Just different and one I cannot explain. Cory and I talked about it for quite some time trying to describe it to one another, without any real success! But it was there.

The other thing I got from this wonderful cigar was that even for an older, smaller cigar it was loaded with flavor - citrus? earth?. It was very smooth, and complex I thought - not even close to being one dimensional or flat. Actually it seemed one flavor waned and another took it's place in a very subtle way. As usual I cannot tell you what the flavors were... only that they were there. And that they were very, very good.

I cannot count my lucky stars enough to have had the opportunity to smoke this rare bad boy... let alone smoke it AND gift one to a brother to enjoy with me (that made it even better in my book). It was fantastic, and given the chance I would buy another and smoke it much sooner than I waited to smoke this one. One of the high points of my cigar smoking career as of this writing. If you get the chance... DO IT!!! you won't be disappointed. If you are, send me the remains and I'll finish it for you. And to the brother that gift one to me in our trade... thank you thank you thank you. Watch your back...

Atados are nice... just need to smoke 'em slower than normal cigars.

Way to rub it in Jim. Looks like a great time had by both of you.

Nice review Swissy!

I really dig cigars that evolve in flavor like it sounds like your Atado did. :)

Man,

Nice review. Great to see a couple of brothers get together for some exceptional smokes.
