One of the best parts of the Orlando Herf was meeting more fine bros from CP. Had an excellent time and smoked many fine cigars. Two of the best came from Jonathan Drew himself! He was visiting the store that night along with 2 reps from Rocky Patel.
They were testing out a new cigar line by Drew Estates for Rocky Patel.

When I stopped by to ask him to sign a box he told me to put down the Opus X PL I was smoking and try one of the new cigars. And after I had smoked about 1/2 of it to come back and he would give me the other blend to try. Of course I complied.

Cigar #1: JAVA

Beautiful looking cigar.
wrapper a nice med. dark chocolate brown, no veins.
It had a firm square-press to it w/ no soft/hard spots.

smoking it was like smoking dessert!
I can say with conviction that both of these might very well have been my fave. DE's ever! [have tried many of them, enjoy the mini blondies from the tins and Pimp Sticks the most]. The cigar had the great taste of coffee, with the taste of chocolate and caramel. True to the DE line there were more exotic flavours than straight tobacco. In this case it was a nice thing.
Could easily see myself smoking one of these over a cup of coffee and the paper some lazy weekend morning.

It smoked very very well. Had a pure white ash, burned straight, and never went out.

Cigar #2: MOCHA JAVA

Similar to #1 but even better! Same profile, but the chocolate was a little darker, the tobacco taste stronger, and the caramel was less.
This one would be more to the tastes of CP I do believe. The first was more of DE-style and the second more Patel with DE tastes. A good strong cigar with a nice mild-sweet-dessert taste.

Honestly, look foreward to getting some of these in the future. Both were excellent cigars. Got a preview of the box design and it was similar to the RP vintage boxes, but with a DE feel to them. Believe price will be around $5 or so a stick, would gladly pay more tho.

Hey, great review! You are actually making me want to taste one of em.

shameless market plug: I know for sure the Corona Cigar Co. will be getting them w/in 2 mos. or so and you can pre-order a box of them.

Not sure how wide the release will be, but would guess all-around by summer.
