DPG JJ Belicoso Maduro - Sept, 08
I've smoked quite a few JJ Maduros but never had a one quite like this.
I originally won and received a box from cbid that was terrible. Tunneling and splotchy wrappers. Clearly ill-kept. This first box was also Sept, 08.
After returning it to CI for a replacement, I received a wonderful box! The wrapper is a chocolate color with a strong spicy/cocoa smell. Perfect burn and draw. The only drawback is the bunching - a bit tight at the tip - but I was able to cut beyond it easily.
The flavor was much like the wrapper smell and grew spicier and less chocolaty as it progressed. Kind of one dimensional but that dimension is one I wouldn't mind staying in for a bit.
I've enjoyed all three front marks in this line; but, these are the best tasting of any I've had so far. I don't know if it was just the year of box age, an unusually good batch of wrapper leaf, or both. Hell of a cigar, though!
