Well... I decided to light up another cigar after enjoying that CAO Brazilia - Pirahna earlier. One thing I am real clear on, I am not rich... in fact I am for the most part a broke graduate student. I found the price of the Don Tomas Clasico more appealing than the actual cigar itself, but I must admit that I have enjoyed a couple of these in the past, both Natural and Maduro. Well folks, my patience has worn thin. This was my second plugged Don Tomas Clasico in a row! Is this typical? I had purchased a box since they were less than $2 a stick. I tried cutting about 1/3 of it off and relighting... No luck! I damn near passed out from pulling on the damn thing so hard! I guess I am learning this cigar business the hard way.

BTW - I lit up an AF shortstory instead... Delicious! :whistling:

Sorry you've had some bad luck w/ DT's. So far...(knock on wood) I haven't had any that were plugged from my box of corojo's. Before you write them off, maybe try a different line of theirs? I definitely know what you mean about their price point...damn its nice :D . Good luck Mac.

I revisited the DT Clasico - Robusto (Natural) this evening... as I have about 20 sticks left from the box I bought! Well I can at least say that it wasn't plugged and actually this particular cigar performed really well (looked good, drew good, burned perfect) but that was about where the cigar ended for me. This thing just didn't taste very good. ??? I'm thinking that as I discover better cigars, the cigars that I once enjoyed are not very enjoyable! This cigar had a funny taste. I think I have heard it called "sour", but I really couldn't decifer from "sour" or "bitter". I thought that it had both. Now there were a few times when I found the aroma enjoyable... and even a few draws that I said "Okay... that wasn't bad". But they were far and few in between. More often than not I found it tasted more like an ashtray.

Anyway, not sure what I will do with the rest of them. They will be taking up space in my humi sooner than later. Does anyone think some time in the humi might refine a cheaper cigar like this?

I might have to give those corojo's a try...
