Tonight the weather was beautiful here in S.E. Tennessee. I had been working my tail off in the shack, so I figured I deserved a little rest and a smoke. After all, the shack is all about smoking anyway, right? So I went outside (no smoking inside till its done) and lit up the next cigar on the top 50 list. The Don Thomas Cameroon Robusto. I had purchased this a while back, and it had been hiding in the humi long enough.
I took some time to chill out before lighting up. The smell of the cigar unsmoked was very creamy with lots of cedar.
When I lit the stick it began to burn perfectly, and stayed even the whole way through. For a 4.50 stick, this thing was constructed amazingly well. The DT's I'd had in the past reminded me a bit of natural padrons, but this was different. It had no spice to it at all, and was smooth and creamy with hints of cedar and leather. There was also a taste that I can't ever remember ever having from a cigar before, and I guess the closest thing would be milk. The taste was odd, but very good.
The cigar was perfect for just sitting under the stars and chilling out, and with such a low pricetag, a great deal. I don't know if I will ever buy one again, simply because I don't normaly buy DT anymore, but I would recomend this cigar highly to anyone who likes a light to medium bodied smoke.
