Cigar - Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label Delicias
The Delicias is a 7x50 churchill style cigar made of 100% Nicaraguan tobacco. The prelight aroma was a sweet, yet robust smell. An overall look at the cigar showed an excellent construction, however due to the freezing temperatures lately, a few cracks in the wrapper. I decide to sacrifice this stick and see what good i can get out of it before it self destructs inside of my coolidor. So, after a few minutes of trying to glue the wrapper down with some chap stick, I get down to toasting the foot. I don't know if it was the dryness of the stick or if this is how Pepin's cigars are, but the lighting process goes quickly and a very smooth smoke comes out. The second puff hits me like a mack truck going 100 as i'm swept away by a rush of freshly crushed white pepper and roasted almonds.
Because of the amazing flavor out of this first inch, i end up smoking the cigar too fast and get a slight uneven burn. At this point, i begin to notice that the burn has reached the cracks and start to split. Its like Santa putting on his trowsers after devouring all of those Hillbilly Steaks and seeing all of that belly hanging out all over the place. The almost overwhelming spicyness left the creamy smoke at this point and i was left with a roasted coffee taste and a hint of chocolate for about 1/3 of the stick until i burned past the cracked portion of the stick. Amazingly, the construction held up and defeated the 2 inch long crack that tried to unravel the cigar the whole time i was smoking it. The rest of the cigar produced the married mix of flavors and I almost ended up nubbing the stick before i realized that i was late for my meeting.
Overall, i think i am in  If this cigar can travel 900 miles through the cold, almost explode at my doorstep and still give off great flavor, I don't think i can give away these sticks as SS gifts. This is my first review, so go easy on me.
